Outdoor Café Program

A mini grant of $200 is offered to help offset the costs of barriers and café furnishings. Staff is available to assist and guide the downtown business owner in their selection of outdoor furnishings, landscape, amenities and upkeep. To further encourage outdoor dining options downtown, licensing and permitting fees have been waived.

Sidewalk cafés are known business generators for merchant operators and their neighboring retail establishments. They encourage pedestrian traffic, discourage street crime, give identity and vitality to a downtown, serve as a special attraction, and enhance the aesthetic value of the urban lifestyle.
